Honda Civic horn wiring diagram for the Honda Civic 2006. This diagram applies to Honda Civic FD also known as Honda Civic Eight Generation or Honda Civic model years 2006-2011.
The horn system (Figure 1) is composed of the battery, the 15-ampere fuse, the horn relay which is built into the MICU, the cable reel, the horn switch, and the two horns (Low Horn and High Horn). The horns are activated by the horn switch located on the center of the steering wheel. Because of the high current requirement of the two (2) horns, a relay is used by the MICU to turn on the horns when the horn switch is pressed. Notice the transistor in series with the coil relay which is basically in parallel with the horn switch. It is used as a part of the security alarm system. The horn is continuously switched on and off by the transistor during an alarm activation.
